2014 World Xiangqi Open Intro

The inaugural World Xiangqi Open was held in Berlin, Germany from the 29th-31st of August in 2014.  Teams from WXF member countries and regions were invited to participate, with each team allowing to enlist the help of one "foreign guest player". There were two divisions: the men's division (three players) and the women's division (two players). 

The rules that were used were the Asian Xiangqi Federation Rules.
Time control: 60m+20sec
A win was worth 2 points, a draw 1 point and a loss would be 0 points.
Men's team competition: set by 3 tables. Swiss System with 5 or 6 rounds.
Women's team competition: set by 2 tables. The competition method and number of rounds will depend on the number of registered teams.
Medals were also awarded to individual players who scored the most points and they were divided into three categories:

• Men's Individual
• Women's Invidual
• Non-Chinese, Non-Vietnamese Individual

Team China swept the the Mens' Team Division, Men's Individual, Women's Team Division, and Women's Individual Division.
