More WXF Tournaments Intro

The World Xiangqi Federation (WXF) is also very active in co-organizing tournaments with other international organizations, governing bodies et cetera.

International Mind Sports Association (IMSA)

The WXF is also a member of the International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) and was added in 2015 as an official member. IMSA membership currently stands at 7: including the 4 founding international federations, World Bridge Federation (WBF), International Go Federation (IGF), Fédération Mondiale du Jeu de Dames (FMJD), and Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE); the World Xiangqi Federation (WXF) was added in 2015, the Mahjong International League (MIL) in 2017, and the Federation of Card Games (FCG) in 2018.  (Information from official IMSA website).

IMSA organizes two major events:

• World Mind Sports Games
• Sportaccord World Mind Games

To date (2022), there have been two World Mind Sports Games (世界智力运动会) , one in 2008 and 2012. There have been six Sportaccord World Mind Games (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 in Beijing and 2016, 2017 in Huai'an, Jiangsu).  The name of the event was changed to IMSA Elite Mind Games for the 2016 and 2017 events.

Huai Yin Han Xin Cup Xiangqi International Masters

The Huai Yin Han Xin Cup Xiangqi Xiangqi International Masters is another major international Xiangqi event on the calendar. It started in 2009 and the last tournament, to date, was held in 2018.  Most of the tournaments were held at the city of Huai Yin, Jiangsu Province, China. However, it was one of the earliest Xiangqi tournaments to be held abroad in countries like Germany and Australia.

Chu He Han Jie King of Xiangqi World Tournament

This biannual tournament is an invitational tournament whereby only one match is played. The Chinese National Champion would go up against the World Xiangqi Federation Champion whereby the winner would take home a purse of one million RMB.  Thus far, there have been two tournaments which have been affected by the COVID pandemic.
