European Xiangqi Federation (EXF), headquartered in Munich, Germany, consists of eight Member Associations: Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Finland, Russia, and Belarus. Both Michael Naegler, President of the German Xiangqi Association, and Ding Wa Chong, President of the Dutch Xiangqi Association, hold the position of Executive President. At the same time, Xue Zhong serves as the Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the EXF. In the past, EXF hosted the European Xiangqi Championship 32 times. In recent years, various European and world-class Xiangqi tournaments have been held by EXF as well. These included: The 2nd World Mind Games, Lille 2012; Hanxin Cup Xiangqi International Invitational, Hamburg 2014; The 1st World Xiangqi Open, Berlin 2014; The 14th World Xiangqi Championship, Munich 2015; The 2nd World Xiangqi Open, Helsinki 2016; The 1st World Xiangqi Youth Championship, 2016 Hamburg; The World Xiangqi Youth Open, 2018 Edinburgh. In July 2017, EXF organized the G20 Hamburg Xiangqi International Invitational & "Experience China – The Chu-River Han-Border Xiangqi Culture Exhibition" at Yu Garden of Confucius Institute of the University of Hamburg.
